Stellite 6
Stellite® 6 (UNS R30006) is the most widely used of the cobalt-chromium-tungsten wear alloys. Chromium carbides dispersed in a cobalt matrix give it excellent resistance to abrasion, galling and cavitation, held up to about 500 °C, which makes it the industry standard for valve seats and gates, pump shafts and bearings, erosion shields and rolling couples. It is frequently run self-mated, is machinable with carbide tooling, and resists both wet corrosion and hot oxidation.
