Alloy 20 (UNS N08020)
Alloy 20 (UNS N08020, W.Nr. 2.4660) is a niobium-stabilised austenitic alloy developed specifically for sulphuric acid. Copper and molybdenum carry the acid resistance, while the niobium addition ties up carbon so welded joints resist intergranular attack without a post-weld heat treatment. It is the standard choice for acid mixing tanks, pickling equipment, pharmaceutical reactors and fertiliser plant.
