Aurico Alloys LLP supplies duplex and super duplex stainless steel from Mumbai in sheet, plate, round bar and foil. Held in stock or arranged with the manufacturer, depending on grade and quantity.
Duplex stainless steel is roughly half austenite and half ferrite, and that mixed structure is the whole point. It gives about twice the yield strength of 304 or 316, so a pressure part can be built from thinner section, and it largely removes the chloride stress corrosion cracking that austenitic grades are prone to.
Grades are ranked by pitting resistance equivalent number, calculated from chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen. Standard duplex such as 2205 sits around 35; the super duplex grades sit above 40, which is the usual threshold for warm seawater. Higher PREN costs more and is harder to fabricate, so the grade is chosen against the chloride content and temperature rather than bought as an upgrade.

Certification and Cutting
