Titanium Grade 16
Aurico Alloys LLP supplies Titanium Grade 16 (UNS R52402) as sheet, plate, foil and round bar, from Mumbai, India, with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates. A Ti-0.05Pd grade, it combines the strength and ductility of Grade 2 titanium with palladium-boosted resistance to chlorides, acids and seawater.
Key Properties
- Palladium 0.04-0.08% — roughly a third of Grade 7's 0.12-0.25%, which is what brings the cost down.
- Grade 2's base chemistry, oxygen 0.25% and iron 0.30% maximum.
- Most of Grade 7's crevice resistance for a fraction of the palladium.
- Specified where Grade 7 is justified on performance but not on price.
Applications
- Crevice-prone chemical process equipment
- Hot chloride and brine service
- Heat exchanger tubing and tubesheets
TIMET states that the 0.05% palladium grades, Grade 16 among them, show nearly identical corrosion resistance to Grade 7, so Grade 7’s reducing-acid limits in our acid and alkali service guide apply to this grade too.
Available Forms
- Titanium Grade 16 Foil
