AM 350 (UNS S35000)

AM 350 (UNS S35000) is a chromium–nickel–molybdenum semi-austenitic stainless that is hardened by transformation and ageing rather than by cold work alone. Supplied in the SCT condition, it combines high strength with useful corrosion resistance, which is why it is used for aerospace structural parts, jet-engine components, springs and diaphragms.

Key Properties

Nickel only 4.0-5.0% with chromium 16.0-17.0% — a martensitic-austenitic balance, not an austenitic stainless.
Nitrogen 0.07-0.13% and carbon 0.07-0.11%, both controlled ranges, which is what allows the transformation on heat treatment.
Molybdenum 2.5-3.25%.
Strength comes from heat treatment, unlike every other grade in this section.
