Titanium Grade 5
Aurico Alloys LLP supplies Titanium Grade 5 (UNS R56400, W.Nr. 3.7164 / 3.7165) as sheet, plate, foil and round bar, from Mumbai, India, with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates. Ti-6Al-4V, it is heat-treatable and used for aerospace turbine blades, airframes and medical implants.
Key Properties
- Aluminium 5.5-6.75% with vanadium 3.5-4.5% — the alpha-beta alloy that accounts for most titanium used by weight.
- Oxygen 0.20% maximum. Grade 23 is the same alloy with oxygen cut to 0.13% for fracture toughness.
- Heat treatable, unlike the commercially pure grades.
- Iron 0.40% and nitrogen 0.05% maximum.
