Ti-6Al-4V Grade 5 titanium alloy powder for additive manufacturing

Titanium Grade 5 Powder (Ti-6Al-4V) Supplier and Exporter

Titanium Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) powder (R56400) is a plasma atomised or plasma rotating electrode, for sphericity and low satellite content alpha-beta titanium alloy feedstock for additive manufacturing, supplied to ASTM F2924 (PBF) in 5-25 µm, 15-45 µm, 15-53 µm, 45-105 µm, 53-105 µm, 45-150 µm, 53-150 µm size fractions.

The most used titanium alloy in manufacturing, and the reason printed titanium parts exist at all: roughly the strength of steel at 60% of the weight.

What Properties Does Printed Ti-6Al-4V Grade 5 Reach?

Printed properties depend on the heat treatment, not just the alloy, so they are given per condition.

As-built titanium is strong but low in ductility, because of the martensitic alpha-prime structure. Stress relief converts it; HIP additionally closes porosity for fatigue-critical parts.

What Is Ti-6Al-4V Grade 5 Powder Used For?

Aerospace structure and brackets, motorsport components, marine hardware and industrial tooling.

Post-processing

Stress relief in vacuum or argon, then HIP to close internal porosity for fatigue-critical parts.

Should I use Titanium Grade 5 or Grade 23 powder?

They share a composition; Grade 23 simply holds oxygen, iron and carbon to tighter limits. Grade 5 suits aerospace and industrial parts where strength governs. Grade 23 is for implants and damage-tolerant parts, because the lower interstitials buy fracture toughness and ductility.

Characterisation and Packing

Each batch is supplied with chemical analysis, particle size distribution by laser diffraction to ASTM B822, apparent and tap density, and flow rate by Hall or Carney funnel. Morphology imaging, oxygen and nitrogen analysis and reporting to ISO/ASTM 52907 are available where your qualification requires them.

Powder is packed under argon in sealed containers with desiccant, labelled with lot number, alloy, particle size cut and date of atomisation.
