Nimonic Alloys Supplier, Stockist and Exporter
Aurico Alloys LLP supplies nine Nimonic® grades from Mumbai, in sheet, plate, round bar and foil. Held in stock or arranged with the manufacturer, depending on grade and quantity.
Nimonic is a family of nickel-chromium superalloys developed for service where the load is carried at temperature rather than in spite of it — gas turbine hot sections above all. The family divides cleanly in two. The solid-solution grades take their strength from the alloying elements in the matrix and stay easy to form and weld. The age-hardened grades add titanium and aluminium, which precipitate a strengthening phase during heat treatment and buy a great deal of creep strength at the cost of being harder to fabricate.
Nimonic Grades Supplied
| Grade | UNS | Type | Chosen for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nimonic 75 | N06075 | Solid solution | Oxidation resistance with good formability and weldability |
| Nimonic 80A | N07080 | Age hardened | The original turbine blade alloy; strength at temperature |
| Nimonic 81 | — | Age hardened | Resistance to high-temperature corrosion |
| Nimonic 86 | — | Solid solution | Molybdenum-bearing, for strength without age hardening |
| Nimonic 90 | N07090 | Age hardened | Cobalt added over the 80A base for higher creep strength |
| Nimonic 105 | — | Age hardened | Higher operating temperature than 90 |
| Nimonic 115 | — | Age hardened | The highest creep strength in the family |
| Nimonic 263 | N07263 | Age hardened | Age hardened but picked for weldability, so it suits sheet fabrications |
| Nimonic 901 | N09901 | Age hardened | Iron-bearing disc alloy, for large rotating sections |
A dash means Special Metals publishes no UNS number for that grade. Confirm the specification against the mill certificate for the batch supplied.
Forms Available
Nimonic is supplied in four forms, cut to size. Other mill forms can be arranged with the manufacturer — ask, and we will confirm what is possible against the quantity.
Where Nimonic Is Used
Almost everything Nimonic does comes back to holding strength where a steel or a stainless would have crept or scaled away:
- Gas turbines — blades, discs, rings and casings in the hot section
- Combustion systems — combustion chambers and flame tubes, usually in 263 where the part is fabricated from sheet and welded
- Automotive and diesel — exhaust valves, turbocharger components
- Hot working tooling — dies and tools that stay loaded while hot
- Aerospace fasteners — bolts and rings that must not relax at temperature
- Furnace and heat treatment — fixtures, retorts and muffles
Certification
Material is supplied against EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates, with chemical composition and mechanical properties for the batch. Cutting to size is done in house.
