AL-6XN (UNS N08367)
AL-6XN (UNS N08367) is a nitrogen-strengthened super-austenitic stainless steel carrying about 6.3% molybdenum and 24% nickel — the composition that lifts its pitting resistance equivalent number above 45. That puts it into service where 316L pits and 904L is marginal: seawater cooling, desalination trains, offshore process piping, bleaching plant and flue-gas desulphurisation.
