Stellite® 6 powder (UNS R30006) is a cobalt-chromium-tungsten wear alloy supplied for surface-engineering and near-net-shape routes: plasma transferred arc (PTA), laser cladding, thermal spray and HVOF, and powder-metallurgy or additive manufacturing. It lays down the same abrasion, galling and cavitation resistance as the wrought and cast forms - a hardness of about 36–45 HRC held to 500 °C - on valve seats, tool edges and erosion faces.
Composition & Particle Size
Chemistry follows Stellite 6 (UNS R30006) - see the full composition and physical constants on the Stellite 6 grade page. Powder is atomised and screened to the particle-size cut the deposition route needs, so oxygen pick-up and cut are set by the process (PTA, laser, thermal spray or additive) rather than by a single default. Tell us the process and we quote the matching cut against a current lot analysis; particle-size ranges are stated per order rather than published as a fixed list.
Applications & Benefits
- PTA and laser cladding of valve seats, gates and wear faces.
- Thermal spray and HVOF coatings for erosion and cavitation protection.
- Powder-metallurgy and additive manufacturing of wear components.
- Same cobalt-chromium-tungsten wear metallurgy as the wrought and cast forms.
Supplied ex-stock from Mumbai with mill test certificates and export packaging. Contact us with your process and required cut for a quote, or see all Stellite 6 forms.
