Nichrome (NiCr) Tube Supplier, Stockist and Exporter

Aurico Alloys LLP supplies Nichrome Tube from ready stock in Mumbai to customers across India and in more than 40 export markets. Tube is specified by outside diameter and wall thickness rather than nominal bore, which makes it the form of choice for heat exchangers, instrumentation and any assembly where the fit into a tubesheet or fitting is what governs.

Nichrome covers nickel-chromium resistance alloys specified by ratio for electrical heating and precision resistors. U-bending, end facing, tube-to-tubesheet preparation and cut-to-length are handled in house.

Sizes and Specifications

Nichrome Tube - standard supply range
Size rangeOutside diameter 3.0 mm to 254 mm with wall thickness 0.5 mm to 15 mm, in seamless and welded construction, random or cut lengths up to 6 m and longer to order.
Types and finishesSupplied annealed and pickled, bright annealed or polished, in straight lengths, U-bends and coiled tubing for instrumentation.
SpecificationsThe mill names ASTM B344 for NiCr 80/20, 70/30 and 60/15 and publishes no tube standard for them, so nichrome tube is supplied to the producing mill's specification.
CertificationEN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate; 3.2 and third-party inspection on request
OriginIndian and imported mills, fully traceable by heat number

Grades and International Equivalents

NiCr 70/30—2.4658
NiCr 60/15—1.4867
NiCr 40/20—1.4864
NiCr 30/20—1.4860
NiCr 20/25——

Chemical Composition

Grades are named for their nickel and chromium ratio: 80/20 is 80% Ni with 20% Cr; the 60/15, 40/20 and 30/20 grades substitute iron for nickel, trading maximum service temperature for cost.

Mechanical and Physical Properties

Resistivity sits near 1.09 ohm-mm2/m for 80/20 with a very low temperature coefficient. Maximum element temperature is about 1200°C for 80/20, falling to roughly 1100°C for the iron-bearing grades.

Industry Applications

How tube is used

Tube is thin-wall hollow section bought for heat transfer and for carrying fluid in small bores. It goes into shell-and-tube heat exchanger and condenser bundles, feedwater heaters and deaerators, U-bends and coiled tubing, and instrumentation and hydraulic lines. Wall thickness, straightness and the ability to bend without thinning the outer wall are what the buyer is specifying.

Where Nichrome Tube is specified
IndustryTypical use
Industrial heatingFurnace elements, heating coils and radiant heaters.
AppliancesToasters, hair dryers, ovens and immersion heaters.
ElectronicsPrecision resistors, thin-film resistive layers and thermocouples.
AutomotiveGlow plugs, seat heaters and sensor elements.
AerospaceDe-icing elements and cabin heating systems.

Testing and Certification

Every consignment ships with an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate stating heat number, chemical analysis and mechanical properties. Depending on grade and specification we can supply positive material identification (PMI), ultrasonic and dye-penetrant testing, intergranular corrosion testing to ASTM A262 or G28, hydrostatic testing, and third-party inspection release notes from Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, SGS or TUV.

Aurico Alloys LLP operates an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system. Material for sour service can be supplied certified to NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 where the grade permits.
