Inconel 718

It is highly regarded for exceptional strength, corrosion resistance and temperature durability in chemical, oil & gas, marine, pharma and power industries.
Key Properties
- Age-hardenable through titanium 0.65-1.15% and aluminium 0.20-0.80%, reaching very high strength after heat treatment.
- Sluggish ageing response is the practical advantage: it can be welded and worked without the strain-age cracking that troubles other precipitation-hardened alloys.
- Nickel plus cobalt 50-55% with chromium 17-21% and molybdenum 2.80-3.30%, on an iron balance.
- Iron balance, not nickel, which is part of why it costs less than the fully nickel-based grades.
