Inconel 718 powder (N07718) is a vacuum induction melted, argon gas atomised nickel superalloy feedstock for additive manufacturing, supplied to ASTM F3055 (PBF) in 5-25 µm, 15-45 µm, 15-53 µm, 45-105 µm, 53-105 µm, 45-150 µm, 53-150 µm size fractions.

The most widely printed superalloy in the world. Its sluggish ageing response means a printed part can be stress relieved, HIPed and aged without strain-age cracking.

What Properties Does Printed Inconel 718 Reach?

Aged 718 matches or exceeds the wrought bar it replaces, provided the build is HIPed to close porosity before ageing.

Should I use Inconel 718 or Inconel 625 powder?

Use 718 when the part carries load and can be heat treated, since ageing takes it to around 1400 MPa. Use 625 when the part must resist corrosion and you would rather not heat treat at all, because 625 is strong as printed and keeps its corrosion performance without ageing. In short: 718 for strength, 625 for corrosion and for cladding.

Characterisation and Packing

Each batch is supplied with chemical analysis, particle size distribution by laser diffraction to ASTM B822, apparent and tap density, and flow rate by Hall or Carney funnel. Morphology imaging, oxygen and nitrogen analysis and reporting to ISO/ASTM 52907 are available where your qualification requires them.

Powder is packed under argon in sealed containers with desiccant, labelled with lot number, alloy, particle size cut and date of atomisation.
