Inconel powder for additive manufacturing

Inconel Powder for Additive Manufacturing

Aurico Alloys LLP supplies 2 inconel powder grades for additive manufacturing: Inconel 718 (N07718) and Inconel 625 (N06625).

Nickel-chromium superalloy powders for parts that must hold strength and resist oxidation where steel and stainless have already given up.

Every grade and cut on this page is supplied: held in stock, or arranged with the manufacturer where a cut is not on the shelf. Tell us the alloy, the size fraction and the quantity and we will confirm availability and lead time.

Inconel 718 Powder

The most widely printed superalloy in the world. Its sluggish ageing response means a printed part can be stress relieved, HIPed and aged without strain-age cracking.

Applications: Turbine wheels, impellers, combustion hardware, downhole tools and high-load aerospace brackets.

Inconel 625 Powder

Strengthened as printed rather than by heat treatment, which is why it is the usual choice for corrosion-critical parts and for cladding worn or damaged components.

Applications: Seawater and subsea hardware, chemical process components, exhaust and bellows parts, and laser cladding of valve and shaft surfaces.

Inconel 625 powder details

Should I use Inconel 718 or Inconel 625 powder?

Use 718 when the part carries load and can be heat treated, since ageing takes it to around 1400 MPa. Use 625 when the part must resist corrosion and you would rather not heat treat at all, because 625 is strong as printed and keeps its corrosion performance without ageing. In short: 718 for strength, 625 for corrosion and for cladding.
