Inconel 617 Coil Supplier, Stockist and Exporter

Aurico Alloys LLP supplies Inconel 617 coil and slit strip (N06617, Werkstoff 2.4663) to ASTM B168 and AMS 5889 from Mumbai, to customers across India and in more than 40 export markets.

In sheet and strip gauges, 617 is gas-turbine combustor material. Combustion cans, transition liners and hot ducting are formed and welded from it because they sit in flame-heated gas above 1000°C while carrying pressure and vibration – the combination that needs 617’s creep strength and its aluminium-supported oxide at the same time.

Mechanical and Physical Properties

Strip is supplied annealed for forming, at around 740 MPa tensile. In service the part is designed on creep-rupture strength between 800 and 1100°C, where 617 leads the solid-solution nickel alloys, and on oxidation resistance supported by its 0.8–1.5% aluminium.

Industry Applications

Why Inconel 617 coil

Combustor sheet metal has to hold its shape hot. A liner that creeps distorts the gas path and cracks at its welds; 617 resists that better than 625 or 601 at combustor temperatures, and it can be formed and welded in the annealed condition without a following age-hardening cycle. Coil suits the long runs that liners and duct sections are made in. For hot-zone skins that carry little load, 601 coil is the cheaper option.

Testing and Certification

Coil is supplied with an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate stating heat number, chemical analysis, mechanical properties and temper, and can be certified to AMS 5889 where the order calls for it. Thickness and width are checked against the order, with positive material identification and third-party inspection under our ISO 9001:2015 system.
