Hastelloy C22 Plates | Superior Corrosion and Heat Resistance for Industrial Applications

When corrosion and heat threaten the longevity and safety of critical industrial components, choosing the right material is essential. An international chemical processing plant facing rapid material degradation found its solution in Hastelloy C22 Plates. Known for its remarkable resistance to oxidizing and reducing acids, this alloy provides unmatched durability and reliability. Aurico Alloys LLP is proud to offer certified Hastelloy C22 Plates, fulfilling the stringent needs of procurement specialists, engineers, fabricators, and OEM manufacturers in chemical, oil & gas, marine, pharmaceutical, and power generation industries.

Why Hastelloy C22 Plates Are a Superior Choice

Hastelloy C22 (UNS N06022, ASTM B575) is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy augmented with iron and small quantities of cobalt, optimized for resistance against pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. It maintains excellent strength and corrosion resistance in highly aggressive oxidizing and reducing environments, including hot chloride, sulfuric, and nitric acid media.

Its alloy chemistry and microstructure ensure remarkable oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 1149°C (2100°F). The alloy also demonstrates excellent weldability and fabrication versatility, supporting complex vessel and component manufacturing with minimal performance loss.

Aurico Alloys LLP supplies Hastelloy C22 Plates with full ASTM B575 certification, mill test certificates, and global traceability. Our inventory management and logistics support fast delivery and custom processing services for industrial clients worldwide, ensuring your projects maintain quality and schedule integrity.

Applications & Benefits

Why this grade

Hastelloy C22 raises chromium to about 22% at the expense of tungsten. The extra chromium widens the margin in oxidising conditions — nitric acid, mixed acids, and oxidising chlorides such as ferric and cupric chloride — which is exactly where C276 is most likely to pit. It is the standard step up from C276 when the oxidising side of a mixed stream is the problem.

  • Chemical reactors, heat exchangers, and piping systems carrying strong oxidizers and reducers
  • Pollution control systems like flue gas scrubbers and waste incinerators
  • Marine desalination plants, seawater pipelines, and offshore equipment
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing requiring highly corrosion-resistant materials
  • Power generation boilers, superheaters, and high-temperature ducting
