Sanicro 35 Plates and Sheets Supplier, Stockist and Exporter
Table of Contents
Aurico Alloys LLP supplies Sanicro 35 plate and sheet (UNS N08935) to ASTM B625, cut to size from Mumbai and exported worldwide.
The flat product is rolled by Outokumpu under a licence agreement with Alleima, who owns the SANICRO trademark and makes the grade as seamless tube and pipe. It is the same alloy either way; the difference is the production route and therefore which mill's certificate arrives with the material.
Sanicro 35 was developed to close the gap between the 6% molybdenum super-austenitic stainless steels and the nickel alloys. At roughly 27% chromium, 35% nickel, 6.5% molybdenum and 0.3% nitrogen it keeps the pitting resistance of a 6-moly grade while the nickel content lifts its chloride stress-corrosion resistance well past what 254 SMO or AL-6XN will give.

Chemical Composition
Nominally 27% chromium, 35% nickel and 6.5% molybdenum with 0.3% nitrogen. The nitrogen is what lets a grade of this chromium and molybdenum content reach its pitting resistance without the cost of a full nickel alloy.

Mechanical and Physical Properties
Alleima describes the grade as having very high mechanical strength for an austenitic material, and publishes minima against its tube and pipe standards rather than against flat product: proof strength 425 MPa and tensile strength 750 MPa for tube to ASTM B163, with 35% elongation, in the solution annealed condition. Plate to ASTM B625 is certified to that standard's own requirements, which are stated on the mill certificate for the heat supplied.
Good weldability with nickel-alloy consumables. Alleima recommends TIG welding at low heat input, with no preheat or post-weld heat treatment normally required.
Industry Applications
Why this grade
Sanicro 35 is specified where a 6-moly stainless is marginal and a nickel alloy is more material than the duty needs. Its resistance to hydrochloric acid runs ahead of stainless steels with lower chromium and molybdenum, and it holds up in seawater used for cooling or heating, which is where the erosion-corrosion resistance matters as much as the pitting resistance.
| Industry | Typical use |
|---|---|
| Power and desalination | Seawater-cooled condenser and heat exchanger shells, tubesheets and waterboxes. |
| Refining | Overhead vessels and exchanger internals in chloride-bearing and sour condensate service. |
| Chemical processing | Acid handling equipment, reaction vessels and scrubber internals. |
| Pollution control | Flue-gas desulphurisation absorbers, ducting and liners. |
| Oil and gas | Sour-service equipment certified to NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156-3 as type 4a and 4c material. |
Testing and Certification
Every consignment ships with an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate stating heat number, chemical analysis and mechanical properties, issued by the mill that rolled the plate. Depending on the specification we can add positive material identification, ultrasonic testing, intergranular corrosion testing to ASTM G28 or A262, and third-party inspection release from Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, SGS or TUV.
Aurico Alloys LLP operates an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, and can certify material to NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 for sour service where the grade permits.
