Inconel 686 Fittings Supplier, Stockist and Exporter

Aurico Alloys LLP supplies inconel 686 fittings (N06686, Werkstoff 2.4606) from ready stock in Mumbai, to customers across India and in more than 40 export markets.

Fittings carry the same corrosion duty as the pipe they join but see higher stress concentration at every change of direction, so grade traceability and wall thickness at the extrados matter more here than anywhere else in a piping system.

Inconel 686 carries more molybdenum plus tungsten than C-276, which is what buys the extra margin in hot, contaminated chloride service.

Chemical Composition

Nickel balance with 19-23% chromium, 15-17% molybdenum and 3.0-4.4% tungsten. The combined molybdenum and tungsten give one of the highest pitting resistance equivalent numbers available in a wrought nickel alloy.

Mechanical and Physical Properties

Annealed tensile strength around 720 MPa. Resists both oxidising and reducing acids, and holds up in hot contaminated chloride media that attack alloy 625 and C-276.

Industry Applications

Why this grade

Inconel 686 raises the tungsten over 625 and reaches a PREN of 65 or better, outperforming both 625 and Hastelloy C-276 in ASTM G48 pitting tests. It resists uniform corrosion in oxidising and reducing conditions alike. It costs more than 625, so it is the grade to reach for when the service has already defeated 625 rather than the default.

IndustryTypical use
Pollution controlFlue-gas desulphurisation absorbers, ducting and stack liners.
Waste treatmentIncineration scrubbers and acid-condensate handling.
Chemical processingMixed-acid service, bleaching and halide-bearing streams.
Oil and gasHigh-chloride sour-service equipment.
Pulp and paperChlorine dioxide bleaching plant.

Testing and Certification

Every consignment ships with an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate stating heat number, chemical analysis and mechanical properties. Depending on the specification we can add positive material identification, ultrasonic and dye-penetrant testing, intergranular corrosion testing to ASTM G28 or A262, hydrostatic testing, and third-party inspection release from Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, SGS or TUV.

Aurico Alloys LLP operates an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, and can certify material to NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 for sour service where the grade permits.
