Incoloy 903 Sheets Supplier | UNS N19903 AMS 5892 High-Strength Low Expansion Alloy

When a leading gas turbine OEM discovered their compressor casing expanding 25% more than rotor blades during hot starts causing blade tip clearances to exceed limits and trigger emergency shutdowns engineers specified Incoloy 903 Sheets (UNS N19903). With controlled thermal expansion of just 7.2 µm/m/°C from -196°C to 650°C and age-hardened strength exceeding 1725 MPa UTS, Incoloy 903 eliminated dimensional mismatches, enabling 15% higher turbine efficiency and 2x longer maintenance intervals.

Unlike conventional nickel alloys where thermal expansion varies 30-50% across operating temperatures, Incoloy 903 maintains constant modulus (147 GPa) and minimal CTE variation, making it the material of choice for gas turbine casings, steam turbine bolts, rocket engine thrust chambers, and ordnance hardware where precise dimensional stability under thermal cycling is mission-critical.

Incoloy 903 outperforms Incoloy 909 (higher cost, similar properties) and standard superalloys by combining age-hardening response (solution 980°C + age 650°C/8h) with low thermal expansion, delivering rupture strength >1000 MPa at 650°C while maintaining ductility >15% elongation ideal for high-stress components in chemical reactors, oil & gas pressure vessels, marine turbine housings, pharma sterilization equipment, and power generation hardware.

Aurico Alloys LLP provides affordable, best quality, authentic Incoloy 903 Sheets as trusted supplier, manufacturer and stockist for chemical, oil & gas, marine, pharma, power generation industries and hardware stores Incoloy 903 sheets supplier, stockist, exporter in India to abroad with AMS 5892 certification, competitive Incoloy 903 sheet price per kg, and Incoloy 903 sheet thickness from 0.5mm to 50mm in ready stock.

Why this grade

Incoloy 903 is a controlled-expansion superalloy: a nickel-cobalt-iron base with essentially no chromium, giving a low and nearly constant coefficient of thermal expansion together with a constant modulus to about 650°C. It is used where running clearance has to be held — gas turbine rings, casings and shrouds. Carrying no chromium, it has no inherent oxidation resistance and is normally coated.

  • Incoloy 903 for gas turbine casings: Compressor casings, turbine shrouds requiring constant CTE matching rotor materials
  • High-strength alloy for steam turbine bolts: Large diameter bolting maintaining preload through thermal cycling
  • Incoloy 903 rocket engine thrust chambers: Cryogenic to combustion temperature components with dimensional stability
  • Incoloy 903 for ordnance hardware: Precision guidance components surviving launch shock and thermal extremes
  • Chemical Process: High-pressure reactor vessels, thermal cycling components
  • Oil & Gas: Subsea valve actuators, high-pressure manifolds
