Key Properties
- Aluminium 5.0-6.0% — exceptionally high, and it is the aluminium rather than chromium that provides the oxidation resistance here.
- Chromium only 2.5-3.5%, which is what allows the low thermal expansion; chromium would raise it.
- Cobalt balance with nickel 26-30% and iron 24-27%.
- Niobium 2.5-3.5% for age-hardening, carbon to 0.03%.
