Cobalt-based Haynes alloys prioritize oxidation resistance: Haynes 25 Co 50% bal., Cr 19-21%, W 14-16%, Fe 3% max, C 0.05-0.15%. Haynes 188 Ni 20-24%, La 0.03-0.15%; 230 adds Mo 1-3%, Nb 0.3-1%.

Mechanical and Physical Properties

Haynes 25: Tensile 1000 MPa, yield 520 MPa, 55% elongation at RT; retains 65 ksi at 980°C. Density 8.9 g/cm³ (25), thermal exp. 12.8 µm/m°C, conductivity 29 W/m°C. Excellent fabricability despite high strength.

Creep superior to nickel alloys up to 1150°C, vital for combustion zones.
