Hastelloy X

Aurico Alloys LLP supplies Hastelloy X as sheet, plate, foil and round bar, from Mumbai, India, with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates.

Hastelloy® X (UNS N06002, W.Nr. 2.4665) is the odd member of the family: a heat-resistant alloy rather than a wet-corrosion one. Chromium 20.5-23%, iron 17-20% and molybdenum 8-10%, with carbon specified as a range of 0.05-0.15% — a minimum, where the C-series grades cap it at 0.010-0.015%. That carbon is what carries the high-temperature strength.

Key Properties

Carbon 0.05-0.15%, a range with a minimum. The C-series alloys cap carbon an order of magnitude lower; this is the clearest sign that X is a different kind of alloy.
Chromium 20.5-23% with iron 17-20% and molybdenum 8-10%.
Oxidation resistance and strength at temperature, not chloride or acid service.
Not a wet-corrosion alloy. For acids and chlorides the C series is the family to quote.
