Questions

Is this the weight that will be invoiced?

No. This is a theoretical weight for an ideal shape. Rolling, wall and diameter tolerances move the real figure by a few per cent, and material is invoiced on weighed shipping weight. Use this to budget, compare and specify, then ask us for a quotation for the number that will actually be billed.

How do I find my grade in the list?

Two filters sit above the material picker and they work together. Filter by family narrows the list to one alloy family or one class of common material — Inconel, Titanium, Stainless Steel, Copper Alloys — which brings the longest list down to seventeen. Search matches the grade name, the family and the identifiers, so 625, N06625 and 2.4856 all find Inconel 625. That matters when you are working from a drawing, where the UNS or Werkstoff number is usually the only name the material has.

Why does the calculator show kg per metre and kg per m²?

Because that is the figure most orders are actually quoted against. Bars, pipes and sections get kg per metre; sheet, plate, discs and rings get kg per square metre. For a coil entered by outside and inside diameter it also works out the developed strip length, which is usually what a strip buyer is after.
