Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo (Ti-6-2-4-2, UNS R54620) is a near-alpha titanium alloy that combines tensile strength, creep strength and toughness, with long-term stability at temperatures up to 425 °C (800 °F). Silicon up to 0.1% is frequently added to improve creep resistance. It is produced by vacuum arc, electron-beam or plasma-arc melting followed by vacuum arc remelting, and is used in gas-turbine compressor blades, discs and impellers, afterburner structures and airframe skin.
