Ti-5Al-2Sn-2Zr-4Cr-4Mo (Ti-5-2-4-4) – UNS R58650
Ti-5Al-2Sn-2Zr-4Cr-4Mo, better known as Ti-17 and also designated Ti-5-2-4-4 (UNS R58650), is a beta-rich alpha-beta titanium alloy developed by General Electric as a high-strength, deep-hardening alloy for fan and compressor discs and other large components. It offers higher tensile and creep strength than Ti-6Al-4V, with a lower density and higher modulus than most beta titanium alloys. It is produced by plasma cold-hearth melting followed by vacuum arc remelting, and supplied as forging billet or forged and rolled bar; the billet is certified to AMS 4995.
