Stellite® 21 wire (UNS R30021) is a cobalt-chromium-molybdenum hardfacing filler for weld overlay where thermal shock, cavitation and reducing environments matter more than peak hardness. Its lower-carbon, molybdenum-bearing deposit is tougher and more crack-resistant than the tungsten grades and work-hardens in service, which makes it the standard overlay for high-temperature valve trim in petrochemical and power plant. It is applied by TIG, MIG or oxy-acetylene welding.
