Monel 400 is a single-phase nickel-copper alloy, so it cannot be hardened by heat treatment and takes its strength from cold work - which is what the temper on a wire order is buying. It is the standard choice for seawater and hydrofluoric acid service.

Tempers
Monel 400 wire is supplied in four tempers. Mechanical properties follow from the temper rather than the grade, so state the temper with the diameter when you enquire.
