Haynes® HR-160
Aurico Alloys LLP supplies Haynes® HR-160 (UNS N12160, W.Nr. 2.4880) as sheet, plate and round bar from Mumbai, India, with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates. It is a solid-solution-strengthened nickel-cobalt-chromium-silicon alloy for sulphidation and chlorination in mixed-gas waste-to-energy service, where chromia-forming alloys break down quickly.
Key Properties
- Silicon 2.75% nominal. It builds a protective oxide that holds up in sulphidising and chlorine-bearing atmospheres, which is what sets the grade apart.
- Cobalt 29% and chromium 28% nominal on a nickel balance, with iron capped at 2%.
- Furnished solution annealed, and covered by ASME Section VIII Division 1 for construction up to 815 °C (1500 °F).
- No melting range is published by the mill, so the table below gives its density and no melting figure.
Applications
- Waste-to-energy boiler tubes, superheaters and components exposed to sulphidising and chlorine-bearing combustion gases
- Chemical process fixtures and components in high-temperature corrosive service
- Pressure vessels and process equipment designed to ASME Section VIII Division 1
