Haynes® 282
Haynes® 282 is a gamma-prime strengthened superalloy developed for creep strength to 1700 °F with better fabricability and weldability than the older age-hardenable grades. It is specified for A-USC boiler components, combustors and supercritical CO2 heat exchangers.
Key Properties
- Titanium 2.1% and aluminium 1.5%, both nominal — the gamma-prime formers that carry the creep strength.
- Nickel base with chromium 20%, cobalt 10% and molybdenum 8.5% nominal.
- Fabricability is the point. It was developed to be weldable and formable where the older age-hardened grades are difficult.
- AMS 5951 for flat product; ASTM B637 / AMS 5915 for bar.
Applications
- A-USC boiler components
- Gas turbine combustors and casings
- Supercritical CO2 heat exchangers
- Welded hot-section fabrications
