Haynes® 230
Haynes® 230 is a nickel-chromium-tungsten-molybdenum alloy with creep strength beyond Hastelloy® X to 1150 °C, combined with oxidation resistance and long-term thermal stability. It is used for combustion cans, ducting and retorts.
Key Properties
- Tungsten 13-15% with molybdenum 1-3% on a nickel base, chromium 20-24%.
- Lanthanum 0.005-0.05% for oxide scale adherence, as on Haynes 188.
- Carbon 0.05-0.15% and aluminium 0.20-0.50%.
- ASTM B435 for plate, sheet and strip; B572 for bar; B619 / B622 for pipe and tube.
Applications
- Combustion cans and transition ducts
- Furnace retorts and radiant tubes
- Chemical process reformers
- High-temperature ducting and bellows
