Hastelloy® N
Aurico Alloys LLP supplies Hastelloy® N as sheet, plate and round bar, from Mumbai, India, with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates.
Hastelloy® N (UNS N10003) is a nickel–molybdenum–chromium alloy with molybdenum 15-18% and chromium held to just 6-8%. It was developed for molten fluoride salts, and the low chromium is exactly why: chromium is the element fluoride salts preferentially attack.
Key Properties
- Chromium only 6-8%, deliberately low, with molybdenum 15-18%.
- Molten fluoride salt service is the reason the grade exists; it is a narrow and specific application.
- Iron to 5%, tungsten to 0.5%, carbon to 0.08%.
- ASTM B434 / AMS 5607 for flat product; ASTM B573 / AMS 5771 for bar.
Applications
- Molten fluoride salt systems and loops
- High-temperature nuclear and research reactors
- Concentrated solar thermal salt circuits
