Hastelloy G-30
Aurico Alloys LLP supplies Hastelloy G-30 as sheet, plate, foil and round bar, from Mumbai, India, with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates.
Hastelloy® G-30 (UNS N06030, W.Nr. 2.4603) is a high-chromium alloy — 28-31.5% — with iron 13-17%, molybdenum 4-6% and copper 1.0-2.4%. The chromium is what makes it a phosphoric acid alloy: commercial wet-process phosphoric attacks lower-chromium grades, and the iron content keeps it affordable against the C series.
Key Properties
- Chromium 28.0-31.5%, the highest in the family.
- Iron 13-17%, which is what separates it in cost from the nickel-rich C grades.
- Molybdenum 4.0-6.0% with copper 1.0-2.4% and tungsten 1.5-4.0%.
- ASTM B582 for plate, sheet and strip; B581 for rod and bar.
Applications
- Wet-process phosphoric acid plant
- Nitric and mixed acid service
- Sulphuric acid pickling
- Fertiliser production equipment
G-30 is Haynes’ grade for wet-process phosphoric acid and strong oxidising solutions, and it runs out abruptly in hydrochloric acid: 0.01 mm/y in boiling 1% acid, 9.47 mm/y in boiling 2%. See where it fits in our acid and alkali service guide.
